This is the first year that the Roundtable of Bands competition had a prelims/finals format. Previous years were a festival, or non-scored performances in the early afternoon and a competition in the evening.

Putting together 2 strong performances, the Mustang Band wowed the crowd twice over last Saturday. A few of the bands competing against the Showband were nearly twice the size and in the end only York Comprehensive came out on top, and even then by only a slim margin!
