After 2006's wonderful showing of winning 1A/2A/3A Grand Champion, the Mustang Band took on a greater challenge by moving up to Class 5A. The challenge was met and the band is now the overall Grand Champion of The Showcase of Bands!

Caption Awards:
Color Guard - 1st Place
Percussion - 2nd Place
Drum Majors - 1st Place
Marching - 1st Place
General Effect - 1st Place
Music - 1st Place

The Showband kicked off the 2007 competition season with a bang by sweeping to first place finishes in all the scoring captions to take home Tommy Haas High Score Trophy for the best overall score of the night at the 26th Annual Showcase of Bands at Albemarle High School.

Despite not having the strongest performance they are capable of at this point in the season the Mustang Band won the 5A Class as well as the Class 4A/5A Grand Champion. Getting stronger as the show went on, the band finished well and were able to use that momentum to take top honors in Marching, Music and General Effect by a half-point in each caption to earn the overall highest score.

The Color Guard spun their way to the Carmela Hendrick Color Guard of Excellence trophy. Their high score also gave them a ranking of Superior!
