Aside from winning Grand Champion, the Mustang Band also took home the the following honors:

• Overall Best Color Guard
• Best Rifles - Class 4A
• Best Flags - Class 4A
• Best Drumline - Class 4A
• Best Music - Class 4A
• Best General Effect - Class 4A

The band's overall score was 88.5 which also earned them a Superior rating.

Congratulations to the entire band for earning the best score of the day at the Albemarle HS 25th Annual Showcase of Bands!

Taking top honors by a mere half-point, the Showband of the Carolinas first contest proved to be an exciting one. While nerves took hold for part of the first half of the show, the band pulled it together and finished the show strong to a standing ovation. Fighting it out with six other bands in Class 4A and three others in 5A, the East Lincoln band finished 1st or 2nd in every category!

A big thank you to Mr. Chad Turner, Director of Bands at Albemarle High School for putting on a wonderful show that enjoyed great weather and a day of great performances. Thank you also to all the parents who helped out throughout the day!

Job well done Mustang Band - enjoy it!
